We propose to develop a joint MIT-Skoltech class in Engineering Systems Innovations and Inventive Product Design. The class is inspired by MIT best practices in project/team-based education providing engineering students with a hands-on and “real world” project design experience. The class will be part of the Entrepreneurship & Innovations Skoltech curriculum targeting Master and PhD students with the further transfer to other Russian universities. The class, with a practical hands-on team/project-based focus, will be unique for Russian engineering education contributing to the preparation of the next generation of engineering leaders in academia, industry, and entrepreneurial environments. It will also be unique to MIT providing students with an opportunity to collaborate with students in Russia on the development of complex, high-value systems.
